Birth*: She was born on 11 October 1813 in Shenandoah County, Virginia (near Forestville).^3,4
Marriage*: She married Abraham Hess on 4 August 1831.⁵
Death*: She died on 25 December 1897 at age 84.⁵

Note*: Soon after their marriage they moved from Virginia to Ohio, where all six of their children were born; later they moved to Illinois. Two of their children died in infancy. The rest had large families.⁵

Note*: He died in infancy. His birth date is given as 12 Dec 1816, but it may have been 1815 as 12 Dec 1816 was only two months before the birth date given for sister Anna.⁵
