     C. H. Fortson, Former Resident of Trail Community Dies Sunday Morning, Oct. 6
     Charles Henry Fortson, a resident of Marlow and the community northeast of Marlow 25 years ago, died at Norman Sunday morning, Oct. 6. He had been ill 10 days from an intestinal ailment.
     Mr. Fortson was born in Texas, Sept. 24, 1893, and was 53 years old at the time of his death. He moved to Oklahoma when a young man with others of his family. Three brothers and three sisters live hereabouts. Ben and John Fortson are brothers living in Marlow. A brother, G. L. Fortson and a sister, Mrs. Mamie Waggoner, live in Duncan, and another sister, Miss Ethel Fortson is employed in Chickasha, and a third sister is Mrs. Allie Burton of Enid.
     Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Henry Sehested at 2:30 Monday afternoon at the Callaway-Smith chapel. Mr. Fortson was a member of the Baptist Church at Old Trail. Pallbearers were L. B. Pearson, Bill Tims, N. B. Brown, W. H. Waller, J. N. Cullum and W. O. Ward.
     Burial was in the local cemetery in charge of the Callaway-Smith funeral home."¹⁴
